A bus trip is being organized to Alisa
Craig, Ontario, for the Irish Quilt Show. The trip is
scheduled for Saturday, October 24, and Sunday, October 25.
The trip fee of $150 includes entrance to the show, the gala
and dinner with the Irish, entertainment, one night's stay
at the Stone Willow Inn at St. Marys, Ontario, breakfast
brunch, and a stop at the large Sew Elegant quilt shop in
Port Huron, MI, on the way home, and transportation. There
will be vendors at the show. There is also a quilt shop
called Cotton-by-Post in Ailsa Craig. Cottton-by-Post is
responsible for bringing the Irish to Canada. Last year,
they brought an African quilt show, and the year before a
Russian quilt show. Both were wonderful.
YOU MUST HAVE A PASSPORT FOR THE
TRIP! There are two (2) kinds, one is only good for
Mexico and Canada ($40) and the other is good for world
travel ($110). This can be done at the post office. If you
want to go on the trip, you will need to pay half of the fee
($75) by the May meeting, and the rest at the September
meeting.
The trip is open to all. For more
information, or to sign up for the trip, contact Kathy
Stein, at
maka@bex.net or 419-865-9681. Some of the quilts will
be at the September meeting.
